GOAL 4 : Access to education

« Ensure equal access to quality education for all and promote learning opportunities throughout life »

The COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 caused the temporary closure of many schools and affected 1.6 billion children and youngsters. This situation interrupted their learning processes and had serious consequences in the struggle to improve the quality of education in the world. The SDG 4 aims to ensure equal access to quality education for all. Since education is an important foundation in the fight against poverty and inequality, this goal is of paramount importance.

One of the goals that this SDG points to is the development of technical and professional skills, necessary to access decent work or entrepreneurship. By 2030, this SDG aims to ensure that all students acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to promote sustainable development, in particular through education for development and sustainable lifestyles, human rights, gender equality, the promotion of a culture of peace and non-violence, global citizenship and appreciation of cultural diversity.
